And then there is Pet Wants Cincinnati, which has been delivering fresh, small-batch pet food directly to doors across the city since 2010, for free.The food itself is the starting point. Made in Ohio in small batches, slow-cooked without corn, soy, wheat, fillers, or animal by-products, it arrives within weeks of production rather than after months in a distribution warehouse. One longtime customer described receiving a standing order of 55 pounds of chicken and brown rice formula every six weeks for $90, making it comparable to premium brands at retail, except it shows up fresh and hand-delivered.Routes are organized by neighborhood, so Cincinnati households can place recurring orders without coordinating anything unusual. Delivery schedules are assigned by address, with adjustments accepted up to the day before drop-off. Going out of town? The order moves. Pet ate less this month? The quantity adjusts.For anyone who prefers to browse in person, curbside pickup is available at the Findlay Market location in Over the Rhine, Tuesday through Sunday.
